sometimes i hear a song that makes me dance and think about my youth
when i was young i was in the closet but when i came out, omg i came bursting out
bursting out of that closet most gay-ly and living a glorious gay life
fun, frolic and a lot of good and a lot of great times i had
i was lucky, this tune reminds me of my youth
and all that exuberance, rational exuberance, which i'm lucky to still have
to a great degree i think

my facebook addiction is getting worse
i'm so addicted and not to the game apps like everyone else is like farmville and that other game that everyone is addicted to and the dreaded lollipops and stuff LOL!
facebook is like heroin at this point, and i think it's stuff like the personal statements that people make about themselves so matter-of-factly and the fabulous photos people post and the other people in people's photos that make it so eye-opening, like seeing someone you know in another person's photo, someone you don't really know and then suddenly realize that whole 6-degrees of separation thing, it's so fucking fucking amazing LOL!!
i guess the reason as well,is the context, people post great stuff on flickr but it doesn't really speak to me the way facebook images do, flickr is somehow devoid of context, on fb it's another world entirely, and you other addicteds know exactly what i'm talking about right?
ciao;-)

edit:
y'all really have to watch this episode of star trek, it's exactly like what facebook and being addicted to facebook apps is truly like, it's like you get addicted and some alien crooks have cooked this up to take over your spaceship but then Lt. Cmdr. Data pops in at the last minute to save the day LOL!!

i've always wondered why every married couple i ever knew eventually broke up
and some of the breakups were more acrimonious than others, while some were more amicable
i've always felt that 500 or so years ago when people were mostly malnourished and lacking in universal medical treatment resulting in folks living mostly only to their late 20s that marriage would most likely last the duration of the then shortened life expectancies
but fast forward to the modern ages of today when people are adequately nourished/medicated/vaccinated etc., and live to 72, the likely hood of marriages lasting until death of the couple seems less likely
to cram two people into a rigid box of marriage and demand they demand of themselves to be each other's *everything* for 30 to 50 years or more has seemed so grossly unrealistic and preposterous to me, I mean really, think about it
i think marriage in the modern ages by necessity needs to be thought of as short term and the one might engage in several marriages over the course of one's lifetime
i just came across a phrase someone put out on one of the social media networks that really speaks to this issue quite well:
He said, "I'm finding it hard to strike a balance between freedom & independence with contrasting needs for love & intimate companionship."
now I'm really thinking that he actually quoted this from someone else more important LOL! but in any event who ever originally put the phrase together hit the nail on the head
it's so great and i'm thinking it should be the first sentence inscribed in the very top over every marriage license and domestic partnership agreement document, and cast in stone, i really do, stated like so:
May the undersigned both enjoy a mutually beneficial and prosperous union and be able to successfully strike a balance between freedom and independence in glorious pursuit of mutually satisfying love and intimate companionship.
you know, or something like that, eh? LOL!
ciao:)

i'm trying to use the latest mozilla firefox 3.0.4 but it keeps crashing
it seems everytime i'm in facebook and someone attempts to chat with me with the facebook chat thingy, when you get a few words typed in and hit enter, the browser freezes and crashes right out
this occurs usually when you reply to the first sentence that someone has typed in a fresh new chat window, always
this is most annoying!!
kthanksbye

i called my doctor today to clear up some confusion in my own head
apparently the h1n1 is presently only being given out to high risk peeps, the elderly, preggo womans and the like
but apparently the h1n1 will be given out by possibly as early as next week to ontari-ario-ites so i told my doctors office to book me the first available opportunity next week if it comes to us by next week
i'm not taking any chances, after surviving sars i know that in life you do not get 9 lives like cats but only 1 or 2 chances LOL. i avoided sars but this h1n1 seems more viralent deadly and scary, at least this is the impression i'm getting from the various media outlets
now as far as the general flu shot itself goes, apparently the average joe can't get it in Ontario just yet unless in the high-risk groups, but the average joe will be able to get it not until January - the rule being the over 65-year-olds and over can get it now but the under 65-year-olds have to wait until January
so that is what i found out today, it was my lunchtime info gather project for the sunny and fab Friday, November the 13th 2009

OMG! I saw the most AWESOME Halloween costume today that I ever saw
it was boy in a bubble with H1N1 labeling LOL!!!
this guy was rolling up Church Street in this huge clear bubble like a gerbil in a plastic bubble and I have no idea how he was able to breathe in that LOL!!
clearly his costume was the most ambitious one I've seen in years and hopefully he made the front page of the gay press and maybe the SUN rag as well, he deserved to, very ambitious, sorry I don't have my own photo of it but I will share when it hits the news stands tomorrow;-)

the reviews of google wave are now bountifully appearing hither and thither
some are quite amusing as one might expect of new tech that is fully not understood LOL!
from the twilight-zone of the interwebs:
"it's not really the development of a new technology, it's the hybridisation of everything that's come before - IRC, IM, Wiki's, Email - into one flexible platform. It's certainly an interesting idea, but what it needs is the ability to forcibly narrow down the parameters so you can *if you want* lock it into a pure Wiki, or IRC clone or whatever.
It might, however, be one of those kid in a candy shop style affairs where the kid can have as much candy as he wants, but doesn't know where to start, eats everything, pukes and makes a mess."
LOL!!

i can smell the evil now and again LOL
omg
like, omg, when you click on notifications, then see all
the panel with all the notifications for day appears and you might have like A MILLION of them!!!
so as you slog through them, and answer the phone or do OTHER THINGS IN YOUR LIFE while facebooking you need to hit the "x" to delete read notifications
EVILNESS now happens - a memo pops up and says:
"Do you want to hide all notifications from Feed Comments?
This will hide all notifications from this application. Use the right hand checkboxes to change your settings.
UMMM!!!!!
Ummm NO!!! I just want to get rid of this just read notification and therefor remove this JUST READ notification from the list!!!!
Jesus fucking christ!!!! Why, facebook proprietors, can I not just do that?! ?!!!!
EVIL-ness happening here at it's most vile LOL!!!
Yep I can even smell the evil, can't the proprietors of facebook smell the evil here as well??
okay facebook rant well and truly done LOL!!
ciao;-)
edit:
if google wave or some other worthy successor to facebook can get minor but HUGELY trifling details like this sorted, they will be the kings ;-)

i just found out today about a brutal attack against a gay man in my city
the cops think that is wasn't a homophobic attack
the gay man in question, Chris Skinner was beaten to the ground by attackers, who then drove their SUV over him killing him
i guess i'm really curious as to why someone driving an SUV would decide to beat and then run over someone, what happened to provoke this attack
the whole thing is rather horrifying to say the least
here is more info about the attack, the candle light vigil was this evening in the village
